Hello! Today's special is home made "tye-dye effect" wrapping/craft paper.
First of all, not much is needed for making just the paper and paint.
I used my kids Melissa & dough art supplies...the effect may be slightly different with other supplies.
I painted multi colored "x's" all over the sheet of paper and sprinkled water all over the paper.
It is important to not over spray/sprinkle the water....if not...we will end up with a big hole in the paper. Choosing the paper very carefully when re-cycling to avoid flimsy paper. I used a spam mail paper as an example of fruitful recycling.
Once the paper is soaked well, we need to fold it in 1/2, and half again till the paint and water is nicely blended in.
Open the folded paper in 5 mins and leave it to dry. The paper can be used a day later for almost anything.
It is a very fun and easy task for even toddlers to do, I used mine to make milk carton napkin holders which I will post tomorrow as a follow up to this post.
It is very beautiful
