Milk carton recycling

I managed to make something easy to carry with napkins for my boys.

They can take one out themselves when they need it and it sits on the ledge of the portion in our living room.

it needed to be water/spill proof and also pretty enough to not be an eye sore.

First thing first please wash the inside and outside of a milk carton and let it dry overnight.

Cut the carton in a way that the handle stays and we have a niche left to leave things inside.

Please stay safe and don't cut yourself on the jagged edge of the plastic (it is very sharp).

I used a craft tape to seal off all the rough edges as can be seen in the photo.

Next cut up the paper to be used to cover up the exterior to make it look pretty. I used my own handcrafted paper. see link:

I cut the paper in half and pasted it on the milk carton with elmers glue. I used two A4 sheets of hand crafted paper and some bits for another sheet to ensure it is fully covered.

As a last step, I sealed the paper with a self sticking clear Con-tact paper to make it water/splatter proof.

To add some final touch, I added a bow and a glass bauble to finish off.

Now I can rest in peace that the kids don't need to ask me for a napkin and help themselves to one any time they need it. It has its own spot and the storage container is cleanable and looks ok enough to leave outside! Yay!
